Milk Eggs Vodka
Today I am featuring Bill Keaggy’s Milk Eggs Vodka not because it’s an interesting and amusing book, though it is, but as an example of someone who has turned a popular web site into a commercially successful book.
Keaggy, proprietor of grocerylists.org a website featuring images of actual discarded then found and saved for posterity shopping lists submitted by site visitors from all over. I found it fascinating, for a few minutes at least, to gaze at other people’s grocery lists. The strange juxtaposition of various items (rum, wine, zip lock bags, film, toilet bowl cleaner) the extraordinary mispellings (smimply orange, hamberger, buttmilk) and the variety of things the lists were written on including a financial report marked as an exhibit in a court case, the RSVP reply card from a formal wedding invitation and a five dollar bill that had a list written in red ink for 6 kinds of beer. Literature it ‘aint but for a fascinating glimpse into how we really live, Milk Eggs Vodka is Recommended.

It sounds like an interesting concept. I will have to check it out.
