Sadly, this post was lost due to an unfortunate wetware error during the migration.   I hope to recreate it from memory at some point,  but just now I can’t remember what I wrote :(

Frugal doesn’t hate you, he hates all of us! Think it’s time to get Grugal to have a chat with Frugal as he is getting too big for his Frugal’s shoes. (Grugal=all Blogger bloggers)

lead the charge, My Den, I’m right behind you ;)

I have help for you Alan. It’s called HaloScan and it’s a commenting system that works with Blogger. You can get those links back! http://www.haloscan.com/

Claire has it set up on her Bebo Author site and she’s not a techie so I’m thinking it should be an easy install.

    lmao thanks antibarbie…

It’s true though, haloscan is easy. Just join up and I’m pretty sure they either give you the html to paste into your template or else they do it for you.

Just peeked at the site, they have a blogger installation wizard and a recent comments widget too.

    No offense intended Claire. ;)

HaloScan may not be the angel you need. I looked into it before I bailed on Bl… uh, Frugal. Users in the forum were very unhappy and not getting support. Also, you would lose all your existing comments. I suggest WordPress, and if you can’t host it yourself, then WordPress.com . . . you can import all your posts and comments either way. The trick there is you’ll loose your Blogspot domain.

Well, I didn’t know it was Frugal/Grugal. Some Bloggers have used Haloscan. I’m trying to get one to come comment on my post on this.

This comment is from a nonBlogger, with a link only back to my site via my inserting it in this place by handwriting the coding MotherPie which is a real hassle.’

Blogging has stimulated conversation but Blogger, by altering the commenting structure, has limited comments only to Google’s bloggers using the Blogger platform. Crummy move, Google/Blogger. See my post on this: Blogger Comment Changes Stink. Period.

This is so stupid of Google.

Anyway it seems that a new feature is being built in that allows Open ID (whatever the hell that is) users to comment. So basically people other than Google users can comment and leave their blog address.

I managed to activate it by going to draft.blogger.com and logging in, then going to the comment section, applying my settings and hitting save.

Phew…. long sentence. Hope that works for you to!
