Good review Ron! I also did not read the book, but I listened to the interview. The most interesting part of it was the whole history of diet. Kaufman quotes Ben Franklin as saying, (as it related to diet choices), that because "human beings are reasonable creatures, we can find a reason for doing anything".

It was a decent interview, and most of it was describing the history. Very interesting! But in parts of the interview, I felt like the author was really trying to make excuses for his own and the American diet by subscribing to Franklin's reasoning theory. The bottom line is that most of the average U.S. diet is comprised of Soda, French Fries, Pizza and other fast food and beverages loaded with empty calories, sugar and salt. Bad, Bad, Bad.
