And this time I do think she has gotten off the soapbox and written a good mystery. JD, if you are not much for mysteries, this series may not be a great place to start. I really enjoy other books of hers but the last time I read one of her mysteries I really only tried it because it was Ms. Brown. I have never been a big mystery genre fan. However, in the last few years, I have started to enjoy a few mysteries/crime novels so it may be time to revisit these books. One of these days I shall have to give one of her mysteries a try again. The lecturing took up far more of the total text than did the plot or its outcome, and I felt cheated. If Brown has, indeed, gotten over herself enough to produce some suspense this time, I'm willing to give it a go.
