If you use Blogger.com to publish your blog, or Google’s document and spreadsheet programs, or Google Maps, or Google’s Picasa image editing software or even just Google search and have ever thought to yourself ‘there really ought to be a manual for this’, now there is. This new 2008 release by Donna L Baker is a complete and detailed manual for all things Google. Adsense, Adwords, G-Mail, Google Earth it’s all covered in this detailed manual. I have to confess that I am not really a big fan of twenty five dollar books that cover much of the same ground as the program’s help pages, but if you are not well familiar with some or all of Google’s product offerings and would like to use Google’s free tools to run your business this volume may be worth it to you. This is a series put out by McGraw Hill, MicGraw Hill Professional lists all the How To Do Everything Books: http://www.mhprofessional.com/category/?cat=4257 . O’Reilly publishing has a similar series called The Missing Manual which covers a variety of different programs and computer functions. They are kind of like The For Dummies Books with a specific formula and design covering a wide variety of subjects. If you want something a little less texty, there is a series of computer books called Teach Yourself Visually in the same vein. Teach Yourself Visually also does music books like guitar and piano.
