Lust

I feel a bit naughty posting about today’s book.    LUST–Kinky Personal Ads.    My Seattle area readers will already be familiar with The Stranger,  a weekly newspaper with lots of coverage of the local music scene, popular sex and relationship columnist Dan Savage and tons and Tons and TONS of personal ads, some of them, uhhh  quite kinky.    Artist Ellen Fortney was hired by The Stranger to illustrate its "Lustlab Ad of the Week".   The aim was not to further sensationalize what is already pretty sensational but rather to bring a humorous twist to the classified pages.    I don’t think I can quote any of the actual ads without making this NSFW,  but I will say that Fortney is both a clever and a verty talented illustrator and most of all of these ads made me smile, and some of them made me laugh out loud.   This one is definitely Recommended, to Adults Only.    And finally,  please note that this particular book is not available from Powells.com at this time, so I have linked the title instead to a Worldcat sales page,  where you may purchase it through a non affiliate link.

  1. that’s actually on my wishlist somewhere, i think it’s cool.

  2. That reminds me of a gag they did on Almost Live! some years back. They put together a coffee table book of Lusty Lady Marquee signs. I thought it was funny, and then it occurred to me that it might actually be good book.
