I Know A Rhino

Today I have two more childrens Easy Picture BooksB. D. Johnson began drawing when he was eight years old and his Eddie’s Kingdom is a beautifully drawn version of young Eddie who lives at the Peaceable apartments, where all the neighbors are hopping mad and they all think Eddie is to blame.   Eddie decides to draw everyone’s picture from Mrs. 4, who is annoyed with Eddie for banging his ball against the wall and waking the baby, to Mr. 6 who is grilling steaks in his apartment and setting off the smoke alarm to Mr. 1 who is dancing to loud music, Eddie apologizes to each and gets permission to draw them.    They all gather on the roof top to see Eddie’s drawing and are shocked that he has drawn them all as animals.   And after that there is laughter and happy neighbors at the Peacable building.   Eddie’s Kingdom–available now, only  $7.95.

I Know A Rhino by Charles Fuge is a very cute rhyming storybook about eight stuffed animals that a little girl knows.   The illustrations are quite, quite charming from taking tea with the rhino to bathing with the giraffe until finally it is night and we see the little girl sleeping with all her animal friends.    I Know A Rhino–available now, only $5.25.   I hope you are enjoying this week in the children’s section.   It is both the most rewarding and challenging are of the library to work in.   If only the real kids at the library behaved like the kids in the storybooks….

Rhinoceros’s are so preposterous. I really like the image of the rhino having tea.
