Book Review: Damn Good Sweet By David Guas & Raquel Pelzel
If you are from the New Orleans area or have an appreciation for the food of that region, David Guas’ Darned Good Sweet is sure to please. Guas, an experienced chef who has worked in a number of hotels and restaurants shares a collection of his favorite desserts, adapted from and inspired by his hometown, New Orleans.
If you have memories of eating bread pudding with rum sauce on Sunday afternoons or of having to bring a king cake to school on Friday, because last week you got the baby, Darned Good Sweet will soon have you heading to the kitchen to whip up something fabulous. As lagniappe, Guas has also included a recipe for authentic Roman candy as popularized by New Orleans own Roman Candy man. Darned Good Sweet– Highly Recommended.

What a great review. The book is actually called DamGoodSweet not Darned Good Sweet though in case there is any confusion.
