Often my reading habits seem to go in waves. Something will grab my attention and the next thing I know I have a half-dozen books about a particular subject or by an interesting author. Which is by way of explaining that I am sitting beside a stack of Larry McMurtry‘s older novels and for the past few days have been deeply involved in his 1970 release Moving On, which is the story of Patsy Carpenter and is I believe the first of five books in what McMurtry considers his Terms Of Endearment cycle. I was of course familiar with Patsy from her role as a supporting character in Terms and The Evening Star, but it has been absolutely fabulous to go back and read Patsy’s story from the very beginning. I have actually finished two other McMurtry books and hope to put Moving On aside at least long enough to write up these other titles for Wednesday and Thursday. (Moving On is just shy of 800 pages and I am reading avidly around page 520 just now.) Here then, are the Teaser Tuesday rules which I lifted from Puss Reboots:
- Grab your current readm

- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“No, no, no,” Patsy said. “Don’t say that. You’ll drive me to despair. Sex is not supposed to be overemphasized in marriage anymore. What about stability and sharing duties an all that?”
“I’ve never known two people to keep one another happy by taking turns dishwashing.”
The above is from page 487 of Moving On. As always, click the book cover image to get a copy from your local library or Buy Now $12.48 from Amazon.
