Maybe with a few more competitors in the mix a few more of us will be able to own a high end video card as a result. The SIS coprocessor provides multimonitor support. SiS seems to have joined the many PC enthusiasts who criticize Nvidia’s decision to use the GeForce4 label to indicate a model year, not a new architecture — its press releases make prominent jabs at the lack of hardware DirectX 8 support in Nvidia’s GeForce4 MX line.

8x Budget Shootout
In the first couple of reviews things looked pretty dim for the FX boards but now with Detonator FX most of the problems we saw are fixed. Everyone deserves a DirectX 8. When it comes to features and accessories Sapphires board has both advantages and weaknesses.
Video In works just fine too as long as you have a clean source of video. But the breakthrough from its previous products is great – the new chip possesses a noticeable architectural advantage so far unobtainable for other competitors of this niche. The quality of the TV-out and any other in and outputs are compared. DirectX doesn’t have any facility for emulating pixel shaders they could be emulated via multi-pass rendering, but DX8 doesn’t break down pixel shader programs into multiple passes, probably for performance reasons.
No cables are included in the package at all but at least the appropriate converters are there.
We look at the amount and usefulness of included accessories and integrated features. Unified drivers also make upgrades a snap, and can even promote a legacy of continually buying and upgrading Nvidia cards. Here’s gainnward elses comments: Siluro IQ is a nice addition but when compared to Inno3Ds package for an example this bundle looks a bit too slim. Almost all modern 3D accelerators can have 2D quality much dependent on a certain sample, and it’s impossible to trace all cards; 2D quality depends gwinward only on a video card, but also on a monitor and a cable; Besides, certain monitors do not get along with certain video cards.
When it comes to Sparkles bundle a single word comes to mind: Its never a good idea to judge product by its predecesors from 4 years or more ago. Overclocking It’s possible to overclock only with the PowerStrip the Triplex’s overclocker is still too raw.
